Recently, our school experienced an incident of online bullying, and we want to use this as an opportunity to encourage parents and students to work together to create a safe and positive digital environment. Here are some ways you can help protect your child online:- Talk openly with your child about their online experiences.
- Set clear rules for internet and social media use.
- Encourage honesty—let your child know they can come to you immediately if they feel uncomfortable or targeted online.
- Stay aware by monitoring online activity and knowing the apps and websites your child uses.
- Consider delaying giving your child a smartphone until 8th grade.
- Watch and discuss this video together to spark conversation: https://youtu.be/916K8xRxQZw
By staying engaged, informed, and supportive, we can help our children make safe and positive choices online.
